Start a Try-On

Bring a photo of yourself and the piece you want to see on it.

1 · Your photos

2 · Choose your experience

Prompts are only used by Pro. Preview and Studio take a garment reference only.

How Virtual Try-On Works

01

Add your photo

Upload one clear photo of yourself — full body, facing the camera, evenly lit. The outfit you want to replace should be visible from shoulders to hips.

02

Add the garment

Upload a flat lay, product shot, or on-model photo of the piece. Pro mode also takes a styling prompt, but it still needs a garment reference.

03

Generate and review

Preview returns one image for 10 credits; Studio returns up to four variations for 20. Check the face, pose, background, and garment details, then download at full size.

Two Kinds of Virtual Try-On

For shoppers and ecommerce

You are checking one specific garment before buying it. The question is whether the color and silhouette work on this person, not how to restyle a whole look. Product photos and flat lays make the best references here.

For creators and brands

You already have a base photo and want to preview several pieces on the same person — a lookbook, a catalog, or a set of campaign variants. Reuse one portrait across garments so the face, pose, and light stay consistent.

Photo guide

What Makes a Good Try-On Photo

Good inputs do most of the work. Start with one person, one garment, and even light before spending credits.

Show the full body

Include the person from head to at least the hips — full length for dresses and trousers. A portrait cropped at the waist cannot show the whole outfit.

Face the camera

A front-facing or slight three-quarter pose works best. Avoid crossed arms, heavy cropping, and objects held across the body.

Keep the light even

Use one person, one scene, and soft even light. Harsh shadows, mirror glare, and motion blur make the garment harder to read.

What It Can and Cannot Do

What it handles well

Silhouette, drape, color, and pattern on a clear, front-facing photo. It is a strong preview for how a garment reads on a body, in a specific light, before you buy or publish.

Where it can drift

Hands and fingers, fine folds, small text logos, and areas hidden behind an arm or a bag are the usual failure points. It does not measure your body or guarantee fit — check the details at full size and use a size chart for purchases.

Virtual Try-On for Shopify Stores

AI Clothes Changer is not a Shopify app, and there is no one-click catalog sync. The workflow is deliberate: generate the image in the browser, download it at full size, then upload it to the product or collection in Shopify admin. That keeps a human in front of every image before it goes live.

One base model photo can carry a whole capsule. Generate each colorway in Studio, review the garment against the physical sample, then publish only the frames that match the product. Read the full AI virtual try-on workflow for Shopify stores.
